At Frieze London 2022, Stephen Friedman Gallery presented the first solo show of Jeffrey Gibson in the UK. The exhibition combined Indigenous artisanal handicraft with narratives of contemporary resistance in protest slogans and song lyrics, all characterised by vibrant colour and pattern. During the fair itself, we caught up with Gibson and heard more about his practice, whilst capturing footage of him interacting with his vibrant works consisting of painting, sculpture and textile.
